Broome-5500kms in the Bank.

Dearest Intrepid Reader,

We only had a short 165km ride into Broome and the trip meter was reading 5500kms as we arrived.

We were keen to get a look at the Indian Ocean. Riding from the East Coast to the West Coast of Australia, was not really something I thought I would have done or could have done. Yet, it is now done.

We are staying four nights at the Broome Vacation Village. We are grateful to have an ensuite site and we have already washed off a lot of red dirt from the road. The trikes are getting a thorough clean this morning. The workshop foreman will be going over them with an eagle eye and tightening up bits and pieces and what ever other secret foreman business he does. The Lovliness is full of 98 again. However the MOTH is letting the Harleys tank run down a bit more.

We have enjoyed Lunch at the Cable Beach house after setting up the camp.

We got our bearings by riding around the town. Well the MOTH did, I never really know where anything is, I have always been quite geographically challenged, with only occasional brief moments of brilliance usually just when they are needed.

I am also good at getting the Google GPS on my iPhone to work through my Senna. So if the MOTH is at a loss, which he rarely is, then I lead following the GPS.

We are a good team, and there really is no need for that new addition who came with the Harley Triglide GPS. You know who I mean.

We went to the night markets at Town Beach. We also met up with Hopper again at the shops. He still had the same crocodile vest on. We again resisted the urge to buy a crocodile back scratcher.

Buying alcohol is quite a challenge in WA and the NT. There is often a police officer out the front. Your licence must be produced then scanned. You must wait in a long line then only buy one type of alcohol. Not beer and scotch and at the same time. The MOTH chose the Scotch. Then I had to go back in and show my licence to get the beer. The MOTH seemed slightly shocked at my low alcoholic low carb choice. It’s so lucky we are practically teetotallers.

The Night Markets at town beach had a low key relaxed vibe and the choice of food extensive. The temperature was perfect and the pink in the sky above the water another of natures gifts.

Early to bed for tomorrow a camel must be ridden!

As you ride out to find the way the way will appear!

Until next time
