Warrnambool VIC - 13 922kms

Dearest Intrepid Reader,

This was our last, of nearly 8 days and 2700 kms in South Australia. We entered on the 8th of August, it was Eucla time!

We are now on Eastern Standard time, the same as our beloved Queensland. We crossed over into Victoria just after Mt Gambier.

We have been travelling on the Princess Highway and it has slowed us down in places due to being quite rough and bumpy. There has been much beauty to balance this minor inconvenience with prolific blooms of wattle and daffodils.

The day started with a light shower so the wet weather gear went on before we started, at the coffee shop in Robe! Jenny sneakily took this photo. As she was brave and did not put on her wet weather gear!

We arrived in Mt Gambier around 1100hrs, it is in the region known as the Limestone Coast. Both of the places we visited are linked to the limestone formation of this area.

We went to the Blue Lake, that is a Volcanic crater. It has been the source of the Water Supply for the town since 1884.

We then went to the Umpherston Sink hole. A Geological Monument and a beautiful garden, that is sunk deep down below ground level. It is amazing and quite breathtaking and just a little bit scarey.

We are staying in Warrnambool tonight, at a best Western Motel we were lucky to find quickly with rain threatening.

We have had a quiet evening in our rooms!

When you ride out to find the way, the way will appear.

Until Next time,

MOTH and LOL
