Coffs Harbour NSW - 15 832kms

Dearest Intrepid Reader,

Toronto, where we stayed last night, is a lakeside suburb in the City of Lake Macquarie.

Today we had an easy quick ride up the freeway. It was wonderful to see “Brisbane” start appearing on the signs. I must admit, the first time I seen it and it said 810 kms, I did think, I could get there today. However we are sticking with the plan.

Our planning was stood us in good stead on our lap. We had a plan, well laid out and documented on Wikicamps. The App is easy use and also easy to share with friends and family, to keep them in the loop. We had included some flexibility, which we did use a couple of times. We had an extra day on the Nullabor to enjoy the Bunda Cliffs and Head of the Bight, without rushing.

These map updates all come out of Wikicamps. Every evening I move the bar down to record our kilometres for the day and the line turns red. The green is yet to be done. Pretty cool hey !

We fuelled up at Coolongolook. I just had to take a photo of the name. It actually is a place. You can just see the bars at the front of the photo. That is an underpass for pedestrians to walk under the road. It is right on the freeway and the road is busy. It is such a good idea. Yes, yes we did have the cherry pie. At the Cherry Pie Café. How could you not.

As we rode into Coffs Harbour it was 29 degrees. You could feel the humidity. We loved feeling the warmth. It is amazing how a few hundred kilometres makes all the difference with the weather. Remember Orbost!!

I had to take off my winter gloves as we rode into the town it was just too hot to keep them on. Lucky I have my summer ones with me. I have them out for tomorrow. The MOTH had his on today. A huge bypass is being constructed around Coffs Harbour. It will be interesting to see how many years it takes to build. As we are still waiting for the opening of the Gympie Bypass, 15 years on.

We are staying at a Wyndham tonight, and it is very flash.

We had a special dinner, just the four of us reflecting on our longest ride. We have ridden through every state and territory in Australia, together.

We have been to Tasmania twice, and the second time was three years ago with Jenny and John.

Tomorrow night we will be with my parents and Jenny and John are visiting friends. We will meet up again on Friday.

We even had desert. A first for the trip.

The MOTH created a bit of a scene, when apparently a hangnail got caught on his shirt and he accidentally spilled his red wine on himself and the floor. Even a man with a mop bucket appeared and a large sign was placed by our table.

Riding is very hard on your nails.

As you ride out to find the way,

The way will appear

Until next time

MOTH and LOL
