Jurien Bay- 8228kms

Dearest Intrepid Reader,

After a great sleep. We packed up and then visited the Geraldton HMAS Sydney Memorial. It really should not be missed.

See above, 645 Steel gulls.

The scenery and country side was stunning as we rode out of Geraldton. Huge sand dunes stand like sentries around beautiful pastoral land. Large fields of golden canola were on either side of the road. Fat goats and sheep, were happy in the pasture.

We were only able to ride on the southern end of the Indian Ocean road as the northern section is closed.

We have entered wild flower country. We have seen some banksia and the Geraldton Waxflower.

Rain had been predicted for Jurien Bay, so we are in hard accommodation tonight at the Jurien Bay Hotel. It certainly did rain heavy after we arrived and the trikes were under cover. Jenny and I then braved a walk down to the Jetty, it was still blowing a gale.

We have been on the road 23 days today and this is our first rain, so we are feeling pretty lucky. The forecast is not looking so great for Perth this next week, however it’s time for a Wyndham experience, so we will be warm and dry.

After two days of wiggling and jiggling, holding my tongue right and whispering sweet nothings to the Lovliness, her ignition has come good and the barrels seem to be lining up every time. We will see how she goes, the new ignition will be waiting for us in Perth, however we will only change it if we must.

I am really not one to discuss our culinary delights. I mean, I know you don’t really care. Look that’s understandable. However, we both had the Local Crayfish, and the, understated, MOTH apparently has not had crayfish for over 40 years. So I don’t remember him having it, so apologies, but here is our dinner.

The menu was brilliant and they had Guinness on tap. So it gets the nod from all of us.

When you ride out to find the way, we dam well hope you find it.

Until next time

MOTH and LOL
