Perth- 8588kms- Halfway!

A momentus day on the Lap!

We got wet!

Well we did, but I think by all measures, we can say we are halfway, on this ride around Australia.

That is indeed a wonderful moment.

We left Jurien Bay, earlier than we planned as is the way of our little group. We are always ready early.

We had a lovely coffee at Cervantes, just 26kms down the road, and resisted, the urge to have crayfish for breakfast. Cervantes is all about cray fishing. It’s only tiny, however the homes and boats are splendidly oversized.

A rainbow at the coffee stop made the rain not feel so bad, for there is no rainbow with out some rain. All credit to Jenny for this beautiful photo.

We then rode on down to the Pinnacles.

The weather was not conducive to walking down to them in already wet leathers. The road was also closed to day, so we had to pass on this experience.

The Pinnacles are limestone structures formed over 25000 years ago, after the sea receded and left deposits of sea shells.

Apparently they look like this on a less inclement day.

We then ride onto Two Rocks, on the tourist drive, it is an area being developed with many new housing estates and train stations under construction.

Driving into Two Rocks at the northern most fringe of Perth metropolitan area, you will be greeted by the grinning 10 metre high statue of King Neptune.

There is much ongoing debate about his future as the development in the area may threaten his existence. However he has many supporters and the fight goes on to save him.

We followed the freeway into Perth and to Scarborough where we are staying for the next three nights. The Loveliness and I had the Krakktinnie with us. I have never towed a trailer with the car. Yet, on this trip I have towed passing road trains and now on a freeway.

Some how, on a trike things seem possible. It’s one of the reasons I think so many people come up and talk to us. They think look at that, I could maybe do that, and so they come over to find out a bit more.

It’s one of the things we love about Triking. Talking to people, we just happen to come accross. I think it used to happen, more and it’s something that has been lost.

We have definitely moved south, today I was wearing

Two pairs of socks and my boots

Tights under my leather pants

Tshirt, skivy heated vest, Harley Davison hoodie, leather jacket

Neck scarf

Merino glove liners and my heated gloves.

It was really only intermittent light rain, enough to be a nuisance, so we did not put on the wet weather gear. It will happen soon, but not today.

The MOTH had on a tshirt.

Ok, yes he had on his leather jacket as well and the vents are now closed. He certainly does not feel the cold as much as I do.

We are all settled in at the Ramada. We have done washing and prepared dinner here in the unit. We will explore Perth tomorrow!

As you ride out to find the way, the way will appear.

Until Next time

MOTH and LOL
